New York's Low Cost Accident Prevention Course is part of the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles' Point and Insurance Reduction Program (PIRP). We're also proud to be able to offer the New York Safety Council's Online Defensive Driving Course. The courses are designed to help students to become safer drivers by encouraging them to change their negative driving attitudes. These defensive driving courses explain applicable New York traffic laws and present strategies and techniques that will help motorists to minimize risks and avoid citations and collisions.

Insurance Discount
Successful completion of an Accident Prevention Course provides a 10% reduction, for three years, in the base rate of a driver's automobile insurance premiums. Best of all, New Yorkers can complete a course every three years in order to maintain the discount! To earn your discount, simply complete the course and present your Certificate of Completion to your insurance company.
Point Reduction
Motorists may attend an Accident Prevention Course once every 18 months for a maximum reduction of four points from the accumulated total on their driving records. We'll mail you a Certificate of Completion for your records, but your graduation is electronically reported to the DMV. All you have to do earn your point reduction is complete the course. It's that easy!
